Virtual reality simulators are an excellent option to learn and practice any type of task without risking human health and without high financial costs. Simulators such as flight simulators are a very common example that can be found in industrial, transportation or military environments. Medicine is another one of the areas that should minimize the risks to patients by providing training and practice, so surgeons must receive special training to use this surgical simulation technology.

insightARTHRO VR® is an advanced arthroscopic training simulator that allows users to learn and improve minimally invasive surgical techniques. Virtual reality techniques constitute a supporting tool to enable learning of the arthroscopic environment as well as manual coordination with an arthroscopic instrument. The simulator also focuses on the maximization and evaluation aspects of the educational process through the appropriate categorization of exercises, skill evaluation techniques and multimedia tools.
The simulator displays an on-screen, three-dimensional image with arthroscopic and panoramic views, including simulation of arthroscopic instruments, provides tactile sensations and, in more advanced versions, includes libraries of actual clinical cases.
